Blogging How-To

There are a lot of reasons to blog, including voicing your opinions, doing a public service, and more. A more “insidious” motivation to start a blog is to make an impression on Google, providing updated content to your site continuously (not to say there is anything wrong with romancing Google!) This is because Google does not look favorably upon static websites and gives higher ranks to those which are updated more actively.

Where your blog can be posted/published: If you don’t already have your own web site, many blogging services are available online. Blogger and Wordpress are two of the most used applications. Yahoo.com has also started getting some of the action in blogging. You can insert a blog on your pre-existing website, which is a fairly common practice. It would be similar to mydomain.tld/blog/

Blog Software: If you have a website and hosting readily available, you may want to try Wordpress for your blog. In addition, you can create your blog articles using Blogger and have them posted on your individual website. There is a convenient FTP setup feature in Blogger that once set up, al you have to do is click a link to publish.

Content: Original blog entries (your own words, not copied from others — an exception to this rule is when you use a brief excerpt from someone’s article), and current information with engaging content are all essential in making your blog effective.

Reader interaction: You can let readers leave feedback by setting your blog to allow it. This gives you control over your blog and comments. This facility is necessary to protect you from current and future spammers. In addition, those who disagree with your opinions may post unsuitable comments.

Making your blog visible:

1) ensure the content is updated often and original,

2) Backlinks to other sites

a.) Become a member of a webring

b.) Use social networking (Myspace, Twitter, Facebook, etc.)

c.) Become a member of various forums whose interests are similar to yours. Forums (communities) can be located at Google, Yuku, Aimoo and many more.

3) Make a submission of your URL to the search engines Google and Yahoo. There is an XML Sitemap generator plug-in available for free if you use Wordpress. It’s a free program, but donations are welcome.

4) Use HTML “tags” in your articles. Place keywords in the tags (Title tags, H1 and H2 tags, etc.) so that your blog articles will be placed in the correct categories by web crawlers (spiders).

Home Interior Design How to Start

Getting into home interior design is not necessarily for the faint of heart, as it can get very complicated and expensive. There is much more to home interior design and just slapping paint on the wall or doing some basic repairs. While virtually anyone can do those sort of tasks, Architectural Drawings, designing an interior from scratch is quite another matter.

However, there is something quite wonderful about having everything in your own hands and having complete control over how you design your house. Obviously, all these sort of things start with a plan. To begin with, this plan might just be a rough sketch on a piece of paper and then it evolves from there.

The plan is the most important thing in fact because it gives you an overall impression of what the end result is going to look like. Before you start spending money and time, you need to have a good impression of what you are in for. There are a number of ways to achieve this. If you have any knowledge of computer aided design, then you can truly work wonders with today’s modern and super fast computers. Though these order programs do tend to have a rather steep learning curve, computers these days are ultimately capable of creating photo realistic designs which you can fly through to see everything how it would look in real life.

However, if you are not into computers and you just don’t have that knowledge, then you can also do quite a lot just with a pen and paper. Creating some two dimensional plans as to whether furniture will go is a start. You will also need to be good at meditating however, as you are going to need to visualise without a picture how your room is going to look.

Of course, you can browse the Internet to find lots of pictures and see if you can find something that inspires you and while you might be able to compare it to the room that you want to redesign, it is not going to be particularly accurate.

Once you have a good idea of what you want to achieve, you can start getting to work. There are various guides available which can teach you the basics of home interior design but you are going to be required to be practical and a general knowledge of basic maintenance is almost essential.

Many of the aspects of home interior designer quite easy to teach yourself. Pretty much anyone can do the basic jobs of painting in preparing services but he gets a bit more complicated if you want to do any plasterwork or install tiles. Nonetheless, there is no reason why you can’t learn and you can also save a lot of money if you do learn. Hiring a professional interior designer is extremely expensive and it could be argued, that they wouldn’t do the job exactly how you wanted it anyway.

Also, if you just want a simple redesign, you can experiment a little and the job will also be far simpler. There is nothing complicated about repainting the room and getting somebody had that a new carpet in for example or even doing it yourself.

What are phytonutrients and what effect can they have on the aging process? They are fruit and plant extracts which have become known as the latest new source of phytochemicals that are highly beneficial to skin cells and cellular tissue.

Phytonutrients are categorized as antioxidants and are usually found in plants and vegetables. They work by supplying vital oxygenated molecules to skin, body tissue and organs making them a key factor to maintaining a healthy body.

Researchers have learned that certain types of plant compounds contain disease fighting phytochemicals that help to protect the body’s immune system as well as major organs and will help damaged tissue heal faster.

Years of clinical research behind the effects of phytochemicals in plant studies have shown that this compound actually causes plant life to reproduce revitalizing cells in both plants and people. The enzymes released as a result helps the body fight cancer causing agents and acts as a shield against degenerative diseases.

The results of proven research should be a clear sign that we all need to use the natural compounds contained in plants as an essential part of our diet in order to stay healthy and live a long productive life. By eating dark berries, soy products, dark green leafy vegetables and drinking red wine, you can be sure of getting a regular dose of phytonutrients.

Alpha Lipoic Acid is highly regarded as a new source of nutrients containing disease fighting compounds and is proven to reduce the aging of skin cells. Research suggests that is should be taken with vitamin C and E for maximum benefits. Alpha Lipoic Acid can be taken orally as a supplement or applied to the surface of the skin as an active ingredient in certain types of topical skin care products.

We all know that vitamin C also known as ascorbic acid is essential for maintaining good health and has been proven to positively affect everything from skin and hair to good cardiovascular health and cellular development. Vitamin C which is an antioxidant synthesizes the production of collagen and helps to promote youthful elasticity within skin.

Vitamin E which falls under the class of tocopherols has a big role in helping to promote health as well. Its effects on hair and skin are undeniable. This fat-based soluble helps to protect the body against free radical damage and resides in the fat tissue of the body unlike vitamin C which is water based soluble.

People suffering with high cholesterol have found this vitamin most helpful too. It is a common prescription to help lower high cholesterol. Looking for younger looking more youthful skin? You guessed it. Taking a daily dose of vitamin C can actually help you look and feel younger. This is why the label on many cosmetic jars shows vitamin C and E and a key ingredient.

Now that you are aware of the key role of phytonutrients and vitamin C and E supplements, you should plan to incorporate them into your diet. You can take them internally as needed or apply them to the surface of skin by using a skin care cosmetic cream.

Home Adobe Web Design Courses – News

For anyone looking to get into a web design team, Adobe Dreamweaver training is an absolute must to gain professional qualifications acknowledged around the world. The entire Adobe Web Creative Suite should also be learned in-depth. This will mean you have knowledge of Flash and Action Script, amongst others, and will put you on track to gain your Adobe Certified Professional or an Adobe Certified Expert accreditation.

Designing a website is just one aspect of the skills necessary for professional web-designers today. We would recommend that you find a course that incorporates subjects such as PHP, HTML and MySQL in order to understand how to maintain content, create traffic and work with database driven sites.

Searching for your first position in IT can feel more straightforward if you’re offered a Job Placement Assistance program. Having said that, occasionally people are too impressed with this facility, because it’s relatively easy for well qualified and focused men and women to land work in the IT environment – as employers are keen to find appropriately skilled employees.

Ideally you should have advice and support about your CV and interviews though; and we’d encourage any student to get their CV updated right at the beginning of their training – don’t put it off for when you’re ready to start work. Being considered a ‘maybe’ is better than being rejected. Many junior support roles are offered to students (who’ve only just left first base.) Normally you’ll get quicker service from a specialised and independent local recruitment service than you’ll get from a course provider’s national service, as they will understand the local industry and employment needs.

A good number of students, so it seems, conscientiously work through their course materials (sometimes for years), and then just stop instead of looking for a job. Sell yourself… Work hard to get yourself known. Good jobs don’t just knock on your door.

You have to make sure that all your accreditations are current and also valid commercially – you’re wasting your time with programmes which lead to some in-house certificate (which is as useless as if you’d printed it yourself). From the viewpoint of an employer, only the top companies like Microsoft, Cisco, Adobe or CompTIA (for instance) will get you into the interview seat. Nothing else makes the grade.

If you forget everything else – then just remember this: It’s essential to obtain proper 24×7 round-the-clock professional support from mentors and instructors. Later, you’ll kick yourself if you don’t. Never buy certification programs which can only support you through a message system after office-staff have gone home. Training organisations will always try to hide the importance of this issue. The bottom line is – you want to be supported when you need the help – not at times when they find it cheaper to provide it.

We recommend that you search for training schools that incorporate three or four individual support centres from around the world. Every one of them needs to be seamlessly combined to provide a single interface and 24 hours-a-day access, when it suits you, without any problems. Find a training provider that cares. As only true round-the-clock 24×7 support provides the necessary backup.

Validated exam simulation and preparation software is crucial – and must be sought from your training supplier. Because a lot of examination boards in IT tend to be American, you need to become familiar with their phraseology. It’s no use just going through the right questions – they have to be in the same format as the actual exams. It’s a good idea to ask for testing modules that will allow you to check your comprehension at any point. Mock exams prepare you properly – so the real thing isn’t quite as scary.

Get rid of a salesperson that offers any particular course without an in-depth conversation to better understand your current abilities and also your experience level. Ensure that they have a large range of products so they can solve your training issues. An important point to note is that, if you have some relevant work-experience or certification, then you may be able to commence studying further along than a trainee with no history to speak of. If this is going to be your initial crack at studying to take an IT exam then you may want to cut your teeth on some basic Microsoft package and Windows skills first.

Creating A Basic Excel Formula

Posted: July 15th, 2009 | Author: Andrew Whiteman | Filed under: Computer | Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , | No Comments »
by Andrew Whiteman

In order to create an Excel formula, begin by typing an equal sign: this distinguishes it from other types of data. A formula consists of groups of expressions. There are three key elements in these expressions: arithmetic operators, such as add and subtract; functions; and references to worksheet.

To create a formula which returns the total of two of the numbers in a spreadsheet (say 24 and 12), you simply type “=24 12″. When you press the Enter key, you would get the correct result. However, the formula would not be linked to the two cells containing the numbers. If the entry in either of the cells were to change, the formula would still give the old result.

Obviously, the best solution is to ensure that our formula contains a reference to the two cells in question. The simplest method of doing this is to click on the first cell having typed the equal sign. Excel then automatically creates a reference to the cell. Next type a plus sign and click the second cell. Excel puts in a reference to the second cell and we then enter the formula either by clicking on the Enter button (on the left of the formula bar) or pressing Enter on the keyboard.

Now that our formula contains a reference to these two cells, any time the cell contents change, the result returned by formula will be updated.

If this were the only way of performing calculations in Excel, formulas would become very long and extremely complex. To avoid this situation, we can use Excel’s built-in functions. Functions carry out complex mathematical calculations without the user having to worry about how the result is reached.

For example, imagine that we wanted to total the contents of a hundred different cells. If we relied purely on the “+” sign, we would end up creating a formula with a hundred different arguments; in other words, a reference to each of the cells containing the numbers. Instead, we can use the SUM function.

To use a function in a formula, type “=” followed by the name of the function. Next type open brackets and enter the arguments of the function. The arguments of the function are the values required by that function in order to return a result. In the case of the SUM function, we simply need to specify which cells contain the numbers we want to total. We can do this by clicking or dragging across the cells that contain those numbers.

When you have entered a reference to all cells containing numbers that we want to total, you can confirm entry of the formula by pressing the Enter key. You don’t even need to close the brackets. Excel will close them for you.

Adware Prevention and Removal Tips

There are ways you can prevent, or at least make it harder for adware to be installed on your computer. Adware and spyware make your computer sluggish as well as send unwanted information to advertisers or worse, hackers. Here are some ways to detect and remove unwanted adware programs. Also, there are ways to remove programs that are already installed on your computer.

First, try and stay away from malicious sites. Many warez, free movie streaming, adult sites and free software download websites are adware infested neighborhoods. The reason why these sites are infested with such programs is because they need a way to monetize their website as the

When you do get pop-ups, make sure to read each one carefully before closing it. Sometimes the pop-ups trick you into installing unwanted applications. Only install software that you agree to and have performed through research on. If you are going to download software and are unsure if it contains adware, try installing a program called Spychecker. Spychecker will determine whether the program you’re about to install has adware in its application.

If you do download programs onto your computer from bad neighborhood sites, you can use software such as Spychecker to check for adware and spyware before you download the program. Also you can run the potential download file through your anti-virus software. Most antivirus software can also check for spyware and adware.

Lastly, use a firewall on your computer. Firewalls block unwanted programs from entering your computer and gathering information. If adware cannot communicate with the internet and with your compute simultaneously, then the adware program will not work. You should also get in the habit of running an anti-virus or adware detection software such as Malwarebytes. Run the scan daily during a time when you’re away from the computer.

The Universal Cell Phone Charger

Posted: July 15th, 2009 | Author: Jackson Oakley | Filed under: Cell Phone | Tags: , , , , | No Comments »
by Jackson Gregory

Many of us are very frustrated by the many different cell phone chargers and adapter out on the market today. We have probably all bought a new phone and seen the specific phone charger that comes with it. It is actually downright rediculous that each cell phone has a different port and is not standardized. The reason that it’s even a problem is because if you forget your specific charger when you travel or are out on the road, you are pretty much dead in the water.

Well as of late there have been some cell phone chargers that have been switching over to USB technology. The nice thing is that these USB chargers are nice because you could take your cord anywhere and plug it into a computer and be able to charge your phone. The downside is that the actual end of the cord that fits into the phone is still not standardized. Even though the cord is USB on the power end, you still have to buy the specific cord that fits in your phone.

The main reason that phones have different port sizes on the actual phone is mainly determines by their design and size. Honestly how hard would it be for these phone companies to just make a standardized port on the phone? It wouldn’t be hard at all, but the phone companies know they can maximize profits by making people buy a specific cord for the phone. The stupid thing about this whole phone charger thing is that these phone companies give you the charger you need with the phone when you buy it. Its when you need to replace the chord that costs you the money to buy that specific cord. Where companies are giving you the charger to begin with, why not just make it standard?

Computers used to have many different ports that were specific to each make and brand of computer. With enough time; however, these computer companies did standardize the ports with the use of USB technology. Now you can buy a mouse or keyboard without having to worry if it will work with your computer. This would be the dream of cell phone users to have a cell phone charger that works with any phone.

It is only going to be a matter of time before the cell phone makers will do the same thing. The thing to remember is that the computer world did not make the changes until they got enough complaints to actually make the change. I’m not trying to rally up a revolution, but we need to raise our voices to these bigger companies and express the frustration. Nothing is ever going to change unless they know that their consumers are upset about their products.

We all love cell phones and find them extremely useful. I have nothing against the cell phones on the market, only with the way the manufacturers make us buy specific cords to charge them. With enough complaints we can force the change.

by Dana Goldberg

It’s happened to everyone. You are working on something important and suddenly your computer freezes up and becomes completely unresponsive. Out of frustration you begin tapping on the keyboard and try to pull up your task manager. Suddenly there is a blue screen and a message about a fatal system error. It seems that you may have a malware virus infecting your system. The first thing you will need to do is figure out what you need to know about windows malware removal.

The bad thing is that you may not know that your pc has a vicious malware virus until it is too late. Your computer will likely be slow to show signs, but will begin slowing down at first followed by system crashes that occur more frequently as time goes on. The best thing you can do is get rid of the malware before it destroys your system.

Removing malware

It is important to rid your system of this nasty virus before it destroys your computer. There are steps you can take to get rid of it.

Once started go to your control panel and click on the remove programs link. Go through the entire list and delete the things that you know are not legitimate.

Next you need to run your virus scanning program to rid your pc of all spyware, adware, and viruses. Your virus scanner should also remove any other malicious programs.

Empty your recycle bin and then open your browsers and clear your history. This is especially important if you do any online banking or shopping. One reason cookie grabbers invade your pc is in order to gain access to bank accounts and credit card information. This is how identity theft starts.

When you finish make sure you reboot your system so that all that you have done will take effect.

Protection is the best way to avoid malware

Removing malware can be quite an ordeal. The best thing that you can do is protect your pc from harm so that you don’t have to deal with malware anymore.

Some of the things that you can do to protect yourself is to start up a firewall on your computer. Firewalls can block harmful programs from gaining access to your system. You may also want to get an ad or spy blocking program. These are great for blocking cookie grabbers.

It is very tedious to get rid of. The best way to protect your pc is to never let malware in.

Find Twitter Followers With a Good Profile Picture

Posted: July 14th, 2009 | Author: Doug Taylor | Filed under: Computer | Tags: , , , , , , , , | No Comments »
by Doug Taylor

People are careful whom they give their money to, especially on the internet. You know that. So, you know that one of your number one goals is to not only have a great product to sell but also to get yourself out there, as someone people can like, admire and trust (feel comfortable giving their money to). To accomplish this on Twitter you will need to find twitter followers and the more the better.

What qualities will help you stand out in an ocean of twitter users?

Let’s start by getting a picture of your friendly face out there. Every time you twitter your picture is attached to your post, the more you twitter, the more your face will be seen and it will be beside your message. This will help you find twitter followers faster.

Folks who do not have a photograph are not unique, and nobody will probably even bother to follow them. Truthfully, unless I feel some type of connection to a person’s profile, I will not follow them.

That’s not because I hate that little default graphic Twitter supplies (although I do). It’s mainly because experience has shown me that 99% of the accounts that don’t have a picture belong to spammers and robot accounts–not the kind of “people” I need in my social network.

So, until you get a real picture for your Twitter profile, I am possibly going to think about that you could be a fake. It isn’t just me either; most of the people will dodge following you.

Folks feel nervous about following someone that does not have their own profile picture. It asserts to the fans that you do not actually care that much about your account if you are not even troubling to put in a picture. And you might be a spambot, who will flood their page with rubbish. You need your Twitter account to draw folks in, not drive them away.

So, put a picture up now, if you do not already have one. Even if you do not feel comfy posting a picture of yourself, there are masses of other options out there – like stock pictures of kittens, or daisies. Think about something that suits your individual taste, something that may set you apart from the rest of the Twitter crowd.

People will start following you in no time once they see your picture and know that you’re not just another spambot. If you want to find Twitter followers this is a good first step.
